Job summary

Archer Recruitment is seeking a Senior R&D Project Manager for a leading medical devices company in Ireland. You will own a large, multidisciplinary development programme from R&D through to commercialisation, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and deliverables stay on track.

The role suits an engineering or R&D professional moving into project management, with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex design controls, V&V and risk management across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Must have experience as a Project Manager in the medical device industry.
• Background in Engineering or medical device R&D/product development.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and taking responsibility for execution and delivery.
• Good knowledge of regulated medical device development (design controls, verification & validation, risk management, design transfer).
• Experience delivering products across multiple stages of the development lifecycle.
• Experience with complex, catheter-based, Class II or III devices is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large-scale medical device development project through R&D, design, validation and commercialisation milestones.
• Build and manage integrated project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies and deliverables.
• Coordinate a broad cross-functional team spanning R&D, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• Partner with technical leads to maintain momentum through design development, V&V, design transfer and manufacturing readiness.
• Identify project risks and potential delays early, driving decisions and corrective actions across the team.
• Manage project reviews and provide updates on progress, priorities and key decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Create accountability across the project team while aligning technical and business objectives.
