Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee mechanical projects from inception to completion in Dublin. You will work with site managers, PMs, and tradespeople to ensure timely delivery, quality control, and effective project operations.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, extensive building services experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in building services for an M&E contractor, main contractor, or M&E consultancy, including data centre projects.
• In-depth knowledge of building services with emphasis on plumbing and HVAC.
• Strong project management and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and maintain project documentation.
• Attend and lead internal and external meetings with stakeholders.
• Manage project variations in conjunction with PM and QS.
• Oversee the work of mechanical tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement project action plans.

Specialising in the supply and installation of mechanical services to a variety of sectors, including retail, commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and fitout. The company has ongoing projects across Dublin and is hoping to expand their team with a senior mechanical project engineer.

About Your New Job

As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with site managers, project managers, and tradespeople to ensure the timely and successful delivery of mechanical projects. Your role will involve coordinating project activities, ensuring quality control, and managing day-to-day project operations. Your job duties will include:

• Planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical engineering projects.
• Ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and maintaining project documentation.
• Attending and leading internal and external meetings with stakeholders.
• Managing project variations in conjunction with the Project Manager (PM) and Quantity Surveyor (QS).
• Overseeing the work of mechanical tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Developing and implementing project action plans.
