Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Dublin to join a leading M&E design consultancy with offices across Europe, delivering projects across data centres, energy, aviation, education, healthcare, commercial and residential sectors for public and private clients.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee design and delivery of mechanical systems, review specifications and calculations, communicate with clients, lead major mechanical design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership (desirable).
• 6+ years experience in mechanical building services design.
• Strong knowledge of building services systems.
• Experience in a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Interest in sustainable design and renewable energy.

• Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, calculations, schedules, and construction-stage reports.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required to join one of Ireland’s leading M&E Design Consultancies with offices across Europe. This role offers opportunities to work on high-profile projects across sectors such as data centres, energy, aviation, education, healthcare, commercial, residential, etc for the public and private sector.

Responsibilities

• As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, overseeing design and delivery of mechanical systems.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, calculations, schedules, and construction-stage reports.
• Communicate with clients through emails, meetings, and project documentation to ensure project alignment and coordination.
• Lead mechanical design across major projects.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership with full CIBSE, IET, or equivalent membership (desirable).
• 6 Years+ Experience in mechanical building services design across various sectors.
• IT Skills – BIM, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Broad industry experience and strong knowledge of building services systems.
• Interest and experience in sustainable design and renewable energy.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts.
• Experience in a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
