Leo Lynch is seeking an experienced Mechanical Cost Estimator to join our estimating team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for tenders across Ireland and the UK, review drawings, and manage supplier quotations from enquiry to award.

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will gain proficiency in cost estimating software through training and contribute to value engineering opportunities on projects in pharmaceutical, data centers, and industrial sectors.

Formación

• Degree in either Mechanical, Process, Building Services Engineering, or other related field
• 10+ years of previous mechanical cost estimating experience in a contracting environment, with experience of delivering tenders from enquiry to award stage, is essential
• Strong computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office
• Strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services systems
• Good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, perform accurate take-offs, and prepare detailed BOQs
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
• Must display excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
• Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities

Responsabilidades

• Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc
• Ensure quantity take-offs and mark-up measured drawings are accurately prepared
• Request, manage, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Issue tender queries and RFIs
• Prepare a costed bill of quantities
• Prepare tender reports, tender pricing schedules, and other tender return documents
• Advise on potential value engineering opportunities
• Manage data base
• Attend meetings and site visits when required
• Adhere to tender return deadlines
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams
• Other related tasks as instructed
