Job summary

Tritech Group in Dublin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate mechanical cost estimates and ensure timely tender submissions. The role is office-based and reports to the Estimating Manager.

You will review tender documents, manage take-offs, obtain quotations, validate scope, and present the final estimate. You will mentor junior estimators and collaborate with electrical estimators to uphold quality control standards.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical cost estimating experience in contracting.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, perform accurate takeoffs, and prepare detailed BOQs.
• Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent time management and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc.
• Manage quantity take-offs and populate pricing documents.
• Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and validate incoming quotations to ensure scope compliance.
• Present the completed estimate to the Pre-Construction Director and to the Board of Directors.
• Control tender documents, including drawing analysis and specifications for BOQs.
• Mentor and train junior estimators.
• Coordinate with the Electrical Estimators.
• Participate in the development of quality control procedures in the Estimating Department.
• Show ability to manage large-scale tenders from start to finish.
• Identify risks and tender opportunities and communicate them to management.
• Ensure detail and contingencies are adequately accounted.
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members.
• Manage estimating manpower to ensure efficient resource use.
• Identify value engineering opportunities.

Due to continuous expansion, Tritech Group is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates and ensuring timely submission of tenders. The candidate will report directly to the Estimating Manager. This role is office‑based in Dublin.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc.
• Manage quantity take‑offs and populate pricing documents.
• Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and interrogate and validate incoming quotations to ensure specification compliance and completeness of scope.
• Present the completed estimate to the Pre‑Construction Director and to the Board of Directors.
• Control tender documents, including drawing analysis and specifications for inclusion in BOQs.
• Mentor and train junior members of the mechanical estimation team.
• Co‑ordinate and collaborate with the Electrical Estimators.
• Participate in the development of procedures to ensure a high standard of quality control in the documents produced by the Estimating Department.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage and complete large‑scale complex tenders autonomously from start to finish.
• Identify risks and potential tender opportunities and highlight these to the estimating manager.
• Ensure level of detail in the estimates and that potential risks and contingencies are adequately accounted for.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members.
• Manage estimating manpower to ensure efficient use of resources and lead junior estimators in the successful completion of their tasks.
• Identify and cost potential value engineering opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous mechanical cost estimating experience in a contracting environment, including delivery of tenders from enquiry to award stage.
• Strong computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office.
• Strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services systems.
• Good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, perform accurate takeoffs, and prepare detailed BOQs.
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
