Job summary

BD is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of complex robotic components within its Pharmacy Automation portfolio. You will own assemblies from concept through manufacturing, working closely with Systems, Electrical, and Controls teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical engineering, strong CAD/analysis skills (SolidWorks/FEA/GD&T), and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in industrial automation and/or robotic system design.
• Experience with mechanical CAD tools (SolidWorks) and analysis methods (FEA, GD&T).
• Ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test complex mechanical engineering components within Pharmacy Automation’s Robotic Product Portfolio.
• Own component and assembly design from concept to manufacturing; define system architecture.
• Create CAD models for electromechanical assemblies and improve existing designs.
• Define product requirements and work with Systems, Electrical, and Controls engineers.
• Provide technical leadership on multiple projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Lead risk assessments and CAPA for hardware designs.
