Job summary

Connexus Recruit is partnering with a growing engineering business in Dundalk to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for its onsite operation. You will design bespoke machinery and automation solutions, taking projects from concept through to completion.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong SolidWorks skills, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. You'll contribute to manufacturing, testing and commissioning while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design experience, ideally within automation, machinery or precision engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing bespoke machinery or automated equipment would be advantageous.
• A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke machinery and mechanical systems using 3D CAD software.
• Take ownership of mechanical design projects from concept through to completion.
• Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and customers.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure designs meet relevant technical, quality and safety standards.
