Job summary

Cpl is seeking a Project Design Engineer in Dundalk, Co. Louth for a permanent, hands-on mechanical and mechatronic design role. You will own 3D/2D design of automated machinery using SolidWorks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver systems from concept to delivery.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in machine design/automation; PLC platforms like Rockwell/STIA and Siemens are advantageous. Travel to UK/Europe and driving license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on machine design and automation experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with PLC/control platforms such as Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal/Step7, or Ignition; knowledge of GAMP or 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus.
• Driving license required.
• Willingness to travel to the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own 3D and 2D design, modeling, and detailing of automated machinery and mechatronic systems using SolidWorks.
• Design transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, pneumatics, electrical equipment, and machine guarding from concept to delivery.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Create and manage technical documentation and ensure ISO 9001 quality standards compliance.
