Job summary

Our client in County Louth is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design automated equipment and mechatronic systems from concept through delivery. You will produce 2D/3D SolidWorks drawings and work within multidisciplinary teams to meet project specs and quality standards.

Requirements include a degree in Mechanical/Automation/Electrical Engineering and experience with automated machinery. Proficiency in SolidWorks and knowledge of robotics safety are desirable.

Our client, a fast-growing engineering business specialising in advanced automation and machinery solutions, are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer in County Louth to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands‑on design role focused on developing automated equipment and mechatronic machinery, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams from initial concept through to project delivery.

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer job in County Louth:

• Design and develop automated equipment to meet customer requirements
• Own mechanical design elements from concept through to project delivery
• Produce 2D and 3D designs and detailed drawings using SolidWorks
• Design mechatronic equipment including mechanisms, transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, pneumatics and machine guarding
• Review customer requirements and ensure designs meet project specifications
• Manage technical documentation and design change control
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
• Plan and prioritise work across multiple projects
• Support problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure designs and processes comply with ISO9001 and relevant quality standards

Experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer job in County Louth:
