Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join its Dundalk engineering team. You will design and develop mechanical components and systems for specialist machinery, producing detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings.

The role is site-based, offering collaboration with production teams and opportunities to lead design improvements and cost-saving initiatives. A mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years' experience are preferred, with Creo and SolidWorks skills

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Hands-on with mechanical design and ownership of projects.
• Experience in design reviews and manufacturing collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies and systems for specialist machinery and equipment.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Take responsibility for mechanical design activities from initial requirements through to final production.
• Review and improve existing designs to enhance performance, durability, reliability and manufacturability.
• Develop practical engineering solutions to design and manufacturing challenges.
• Work with production and assembly teams to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture.
• Support prototype development, product testing and design validation activities.
• Review materials, components and processes for suitability and cost.
