Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Accountant within the M&A team to drive technical accounting analysis, pre-close and post-close integration related to the company’s acquisition strategy. You will collaborate with Corporate Development, Finance, Legal, Tax, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting of acquired entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/CA (or equivalent) required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or technical accounting.
• Strong technical accounting expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, especially business combinations, stock compensation, currency, and tax.
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence cross-functional and remote teams.
• Experience in a multinational environment with multi-currency entities.
• Experience with ERP or system integrations.
• Post-merger integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Technical accounting research and documentation for business combinations and asset acquisitions.
• Support allocations, goodwill, intangibles and opening balance sheet preparation in ERP.
• Analyze stock-based compensation, foreign currency translation, consolidation, and statutory reporting.
• Prepare audit-ready memos and respond to internal/external audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, local standards, SEC rules, and internal policies.
• Participate in financial accounting prep meetings to identify risks and integration challenges.
• Assist in evaluating historical financials, quality of earnings, and off-balance-sheet exposures.
• Provide accounting input into deal structuring and purchase agreements.
• Lead or support accounting workstreams in system alignment and chart of accounts mapping.
• Record opening balance sheets and purchase price allocations; harmonize policies across entities.
