Job description

The Firm

Mason Hayes & Curran LLP is a leading Irish law firm based in Dublin with representative offices in San Francisco, New York and London. The firm has been the fastest growing law firm in Ireland over the last decade. We are a business law firm with extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of Irish business-related law and with particular focus on the Energy, Technology, Financial Services, Built Environment, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Charities sectors.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Learning & Development Professional for our Learning & Development team.

The Role

This is a newly created senior position within our L&D team, reporting directly to the Director of Learning & Development.

The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping how we develop the skills and capabilities of our people, both now and for the future. Working collaboratively with colleagues across L&D, HR and the wider firm, you will bring strong L&D expertise, practical judgement and fresh ideas to the development of our people. You will lead the design and delivery of key development programmes, with a particular focus on leadership, talent and future skills. As AI and new technologies continue to change the professional services environment, you will also play an important role in developing the skills, behaviours and judgement our people need to make the most of these changes.

This is an opportunity to take a senior role within L&D, working closely with partners, business leaders and colleagues across the firm to create practical development solutions that support our people and the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with the Director of Learning & Development and senior colleagues to plan and deliver the firm's L&D programmes, ensuring they are well coordinated and deliver meaningful impact.
  • Act as a senior voice on L&D, sharing expertise, contributing ideas and supporting the team in developing new approaches.
  • Identify the skills and capabilities the firm will need in the future and incorporate these into development, leadership and talent programmes.
  • Lead the L&D approach to AI skills, helping our people develop the knowledge, behaviours and judgement required as AI becomes increasingly embedded in professional services.
  • Identify practical opportunities to use AI and other technologies to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and scalability of L&D and enhance the learner experience.
  • Advise partners, business leaders and HR colleagues on talent, leadership and capability development.
  • Design, develop and manage the MHC mentoring programme.
  • Support the firm's leadership development strategy, including strengthening leadership capability, succession planning and organisational resilience.
  • Provide one-to-one executive coaching as part of the firm's wider leadership development approach.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • Significant L&D experience, including experience of leading new initiatives, particularly within leadership development.
  • Experience within a professional services or corporate environment would be advantageous.
  • A proven track record of developing learning strategies that support business objectives and deliver measurable results.
  • Strong knowledge of learning, talent and leadership development.
  • A genuine interest in how AI and new technologies are changing professional skills and the way people learn and work.
  • The confidence and credibility to advise, influence and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate business needs into practical development solutions.
  • Excellent project and programme management skills, with the flexibility to manage changing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to contribute ideas and challenge constructively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong client service focus and the ability to build effective relationships across the firm.
  • An executive coaching qualification would be a strong advantage.
Why Mason Hayes & Curran
