Job summary

Sonatus, Inc. seeks a Senior Lead Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize high-performance database systems for data-intensive applications. You will drive time-series, OLAP, and OLTP solutions, collaborating with data engineering, analytics, and product teams.

You will mentor juniors, lead architecture decisions, and stay ahead of evolving database technologies to ensure reliability and scalability across our infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Dual SQL/NoSQL expertise with time-series databases.
• 10+ years in database engineering roles.
• Experience designing OLAP/OLTP systems at scale.
• Knowledge of data modeling for diverse workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of scalable DB solutions focused on time-series, OLAP and OLTP.
• Evaluate SQL/NoSQL tech (PostgreSQL, TimeScale, Cassandra, Druid, Pinot) for projects.
• Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, indexing, and stored procedures.
• Implement time-series DBs for high-frequency ingestion and analytics.
• Optimise OLAP/OLTP performance for low latency and reliability.
• Collaborate with AI Eng, software, and product teams on data needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive DB tech improvements.
