Job summary

SMBC Group in Ireland is seeking a senior software developer to work within the ITSD Business Platforms for a pre-execution sales trader workflow system. You will contribute to structuring, valuing and matching voice deals for Interest Rate products and collaborate with traders, analysts and IT partners.

The role requires strong Java development, Spring Boot and distributed systems experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Strong fundamentals in concurrency, algorithms and data structures.
Experience with distributed systems, multi-threaded and asynchronous apps.
Experience with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and OpenShift.

Responsibilities

Hands-on Java development for the trading workflow system.
Collaborate with traders and production support; provide L3 support as needed.
Deliver software in short cycles within Scrum/Agile processes.
Continuously improve development, release tooling and processes.
