UCD School of Earth Sciences seeks to recruit a senior IT systems administrator to support the day-to-day IT requirements of the School’s students, staff and research teams, to facilitate access to hardware and software, and to maintain and oversee the development and security of the School’s strategic IT infrastructure in collaboration with UCD IT services.

The IT administrator will provide expert and timely support for: Windows-based workstations, geoscience software, network and server

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows-based workstations, classroom and field environments.
• Familiarity with geoscience software and 3D interpretation tools is advantageous.
• Experience in academic or large organizational settings; involvement with IT services and cybersecurity is valued.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert IT systems administration for School’s IT infrastructure.
• Manage network, licenses, firewalls, and dedicated servers.
• Oversee storage, backups, and off-site replication.
• Support classroom AV and video-capture equipment.
• Collaborate with UCD IT Services and researchers to enable teaching and research workflows.
