Job summary

SSE Renewables in Ireland invites an experienced 400kV Project Senior Authorised Person to join the Operational Commissioning team. You will oversee safety, energisation and handover of major wind, solar and BESS assets, up to 400kV, across GB and Ireland.

This permanent, full-time role requires HV authorisation (400kV preferred) or progression from lower voltages, with training support towards 400kV authorisation. Base locations include Dublin or Belfast with 50% site presence.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with HV commissioning experience.
• Senior Authorised Person with HV safety framework; 400kV preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HV systems: substations, transformers, switchgear.
• Experience commissioning HV/LV equipment and energisation on complex projects.
• Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders across project teams and operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform Senior Authorised Person duties up to 400kV during commissioning.
• Lead switching operations, outage planning, safety docs and interface coordination.
• Support commissioning and readiness of Wind, Solar, BESS and grid assets.
• Provide technical leadership on HV systems and asset integrity improvements.
• Manage contractors and governance in fast-paced commissioning env.
