Job summary

John Paul Construction seeks a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to lead HV/EHV switching, safety documentation, and fault response across Ireland. The role demands significant HV experience, strong leadership, and willingness to travel to operational sites.

Qualifications

Electrical engineering qualification required (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent).
Significant experience operating and maintaining HV electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules and network operations.
Experience in commissioning, maintenance, fault response, and outage management.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and carry out HV/EHV switching operations, isolations, and network activities in accordance with safety rules.
Issue and manage safety documentation, including Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test.
Lead fault response, commissioning, maintenance, and outage activities to support safe operation.
Supervise and provide guidance to staff and contractors, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Conduct risk assessments, approve schedules and procedures, and maintain records.
