Job summary

We're looking for a Senior HV Electrical Engineer to join our client's growing Power team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work on major transmission, distribution and energy infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK and internationally, supporting the delivery of innovative solutions in a rapidly evolving energy sector.

As a Senior HV Electrical Engineer, you'll work with utilities, developers and major energy users, taking ownership of technical delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to the growth of the team.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design and owner's engineering of HV substations and grid development projects.
• Review HV plant layouts, earthing, interlocking, busbar calculations and technical specifications.
• Produce and review schematics, single-line diagrams, substation layouts and contestable specification packs.
• Deliver projects from feasibility and detailed design through to construction support and commissioning.
• Provide technical input to bids and client proposals.
• Support projects involving emerging technologies, including energy storage, HVDC and smart grid solutions.

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards it.
• Experience designing HV substations (110kV–400kV), ideally within Irish or UK transmission and distribution networks.
• Knowledge of Irish TSO and DNO standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading technical workstreams and delivering high‑quality engineering solutions.
• Experience with AIS/GIS substations, HV cable systems, overhead lines, protection and control, commissioning, ETAP, CDEGS or a Master's degree would be advantageous but isn't essential.
