Job summary

West Cork Distillers seeks an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead the HSE function across the group, protecting staff and the environment while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. You will oversee policies across sites, conduct audits and investigations, drive training, and coordinate with authorities on Seveso/COMAH duties.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental management, engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in a senior HSE role within manufacturing or regulated production.
• Strong knowledge of Irish HSE legislation.
• Experience with Seveso/COMAH compliance and EPA-licensed operations is advantageous.
• Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Ability to influence at all levels and translate HSE strategy into action.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve HSE policies across both sites.
• Promote a proactive safety culture at all levels.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Lead investigations into accidents and environmental events.
• Monitor HSE performance and present reports to senior management.
• Identify and deliver mandatory HSE training.
• Maintain Safety Statement and emergency response plans.
• Lead Seveso/COMAH compliance and liaise with authorities.
