Job summary

West Cork Distillers seeks an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead the HSE function across two sites, ensuring a proactive safety culture and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

You will develop and implement HSE policies, perform audits and risk assessments, manage Seveso/COMAH compliance and drive training and reporting to senior management. This is a hands-on leadership role in a growing drinks producer.

Qualifications

• Relevant third-level qualification in health, safety and environment or related discipline.
• Experience in senior HSE role within regulated production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Irish H&S and environmental legislation.
• Experience with Seveso/COMAH compliance and EPA-regulated operations.
• Audit, risk assessment and incident investigation experience.
• Ability to influence at all levels and lead across two sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE policies and strategies across two sites.
• Promote a proactive safety culture with clear ownership of health, safety and environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Lead Seveso/COMAH compliance liaison with authorities and regulators as required.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments; oversee corrective actions.
• Lead investigations into accidents and environmental events; identify root causes.
• Monitor HSE performance, analyse trends and report to senior management.
• Identify training needs and ensure delivery and records are maintained.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving legislation and industry best practices.
• Update Safety Statement and emergency response plans; ensure IPC licence compliance.
