Job summary

Daksta is seeking a skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead safety initiatives across Irish construction projects. The role focuses on compliance, risk reduction, and fostering a proactive safety culture onsite.

You will build and maintain HSE policies, conduct regular site inspections, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include training delivery, incident investigations, stakeholder liaison with regulators and clients, and staying current with

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar HSE role, preferably construction.
• NEBOSH/IOSH certification is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to engage at all levels.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HSE management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and systems in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management and project teams on all HSE matters.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site personnel.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and maintain strong working relationships.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
