Job summary

HMV Engineering in Ireland is seeking a Project Development Manager to lead preconstruction and early-stage activities for high-voltage projects. You will shape project direction, manage strategic client relationships, and drive business development to position the company for contract awards.

You will coordinate with procurement, estimating and engineering teams, create roadmaps, and guide cross-functional teams toward successful handover to execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, project management, business, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project development and/or senior project management within high voltage EPC sectors.
• Proven success in client relationship management, strategic business development, and securing large-scale project contracts.
• Strong understanding of high voltage electrical infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and preconstruction strategies.
• Proven leadership skills with a strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities.
• High level of organizational capability, with a strong focus on managing complexity and driving outcomes.
• Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex project scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction activities and define project scope with internal stakeholders.
• Develop robust project strategies in collaboration with internal departments (Procurement, Estimating & Engineering).
• Create a high-level project roadmap with milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
• Assemble and lead a cross-functional project team by allocating resources from various departments.
• Oversee finalization of preconstruction deliverables and secure formal client agreement, then handover to execution.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with standards, safety regulations, and QA systems.
• Contribute to strategic planning of the project development department and drive continuous improvement.
