Job summary

Capri Medical in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a driven Senior Hardware Engineer to lead hands-on building and testing of implantable BioElectronics hardware in the lab. You will work closely with firmware and software teams to drive system integration and product validation.

The role emphasizes circuit design, PCB layout, debugging with oscilloscopes and EMI/EMC testing, and translating prototypes into production-ready hardware.

Qualifications

• Electrical/electronic engineering degree (BEng, MEng or PhD) with hands-on hardware experience.
• Medical device experience and knowledge of ISO 13485 and IEC 60601.
• Experience in electronic circuit design for digital and analog circuits.
• Hands-on soldering, PCB rework and lab debugging.
• Schematic and PCB design with Altium experience.
• Embedded electronic design.
• Experience with EMI/EMC testing and mitigation.
• Comfort with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, bench power supplies).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on hardware builds and prototype development.
• Hardware testing and board bring-up with firmware integration at board level.
• Designing and reviewing schematics and PCBs from concept to production.
• Debugging hardware using lab equipment.
• Failure analysis and test protocol design; device testing and validation.
• Collaborating with firmware and software engineers on system integration.
• Documentation of specifications and requirements.
• Running Python test scripts and providing feedback to the team.
• Contributing to test coverage and informing script development.
