Job summary

Capri-Medical is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement embedded firmware for BLE controllers and implantable devices. You will translate system requirements into embedded specifications, implement interfaces, and ensure IEC 62304, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 compliance.

You will lead architecture reviews, integration and testing efforts, and support regulatory submissions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience, preferably in medical devices or regulated industries.
• Strong proficiency in C; Python skills required; C++ knowledge a plus.
• Experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, low-level drivers; Linux experience.
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971 standards.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation; Jira familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for BLE controller and implantable device on low-power MCUs.
• Develop BLE communication protocols between mobile app, controller and implanted device.
• Write and maintain low-level drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, timers, GPIO) and bootloaders.
• Optimise for ultra-low power, reliability and safety in battery-powered systems.
• Support hardware bring-up and cross-functional integration; debug with JTAG/SWD.
• Produce firmware documentation aligned with IEC 62304 and maintain traceability.
• Write unit/integration tests and contribute to Python-based test scripts.
• Contribute to CI practices, version control, code reviews and milestone reviews.
