Job summary

Cast AI is hiring a backend engineer to design, build, and operate Go services powering autonomous cloud infrastructure. You will own features end-to-end, debug high-stakes production issues, and collaborate with product and other engineering teams to shape the platform.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with clean abstractions and maintainable code.
• Production Go experience or strong systems programming in a comparable language.
• Experience building or operating trust-critical systems: authentication, billing, or accounting data.
• Solid API design knowledge: versioning, backward compatibility, auth, idempotency, async patterns.
• Strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills across databases and queries.
• Experience operating systems under high load and identifying bottlenecks.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: pods, services, deployments, cluster debugging.
• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
• Track record of delivering complex projects end-to-end.
• Excellent English, verbal and written.
• Startup mindset: adaptable, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Go backend services used by multiple teams and customers.
• Own features end-to-end from design to production rollout.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues in security-, money-, or trust-critical flows.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to solve non-textbook problems.
• Contribute to product direction and backlog with pragmatic technical input.
