Job summary

Federated Hermes, Inc. is seeking an experienced risk professional to support an effective fund risk management system within Hermes Fund Managers Ireland Limited (HFMIL).

This role reports to the Head of Risk Ireland and collaborates with group risk teams to strengthen governance, policies and controls for products under management. You will identify and review investment risk characteristics, oversee risk assessments, and lead risk committees while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience across fund risk and/or investments.
• Strong numerical qualifications.
• Likely educated to degree level (or equivalent) in risk or related field.
• Significant experience in fund risk / investment management in an asset manager.
• Experience with a wide range of investment products (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives & Private Markets).
• Good knowledge of Irish financial services regulations and framework.
• Good systems knowledge and data analysis skills (FactSet knowledge desirable).
• Experience delivering on projects/change initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver value-added Risk Management with deep knowledge of each asset class and each Fund Managers’ investment style for HFMIL managed products.
• Identify and review investment risk characteristics of all products, monitor against risk limits and risk tolerances.
• Engage with Group committees as the fund risk lead.
• Review risk characteristics of all products (liquidity, market risk) and monitor against tolerances.
• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for Fund Risk Management with investments and product teams.
• Provide guidance across the business to identify, assess and manage fund risks; become the UCITS/AIFMD risk expert.
• Ensure periodic stress tests and risk analyses to identify, measure, and monitor risks including liquidity and sustainability risk.
• Work with Head of Risk, Ireland and Federated group risk to integrate and enhance risk management framework for HFMIL.
• Manage onboarding of new products including eligibility criteria and regulatory requirements, finalising risk documentation as required (RMP, investment risk framework).
• Maintain and review reports on fund risk issues such as market movements, liquidity exposures and carbon exposures.
• Engage with other designated persons as part of overall risk management framework and participate in governance committees and industry fora.
• Support projects to improve performance and enable scalable delivery of service.
