Job summary

Quest Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join a leading financial services firm in Cork. This senior role oversees fund accounting delivery, manages client relationships and drives process improvements across the team.

You will lead and develop staff, ensure quality controls, SLAs and KPIs are met, and collaborate with stakeholders to scale operations and implement automation where applicable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Hedge Fund Accounting experience or similar environment.
• Proven supervisory/managerial experience leading a fund accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting processes and valuation activities.
• Advanced knowledge of complex OTC derivatives.
• Experience mentoring, developing and coaching a team.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing KPIs, SLAs, and controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the quality and delivery of Fund Accounting services across an assigned client portfolio.
• Review and approve daily, weekly and month-end valuations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to required standards.
• Lead and manage a team, ensuring service levels, deadlines and client expectations are consistently achieved.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting transactions, applying policies and procedures.
• Create a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on quality and efficiency.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, controls, technology and operational efficiency.
• Support development of the Fund Accounting operating model and wider initiatives.
• Oversee accuracy and quality of fund accounting processes with oversight of support teams.
• Ensure new products/clients are introduced in a controlled, scalable manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients as senior contact for Fund Accounting.
• Monitor SLAs, KPIs and service performance; take proactive action to improve.
• Review controls and performance metrics to manage risks.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations, Custody, Depositary, IT and others.
• Manage client requests and process improvement initiatives.
• Promote quality and client service culture while maintaining control and scalability.
• Identify automation opportunities and review processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
• Oversee training, development and performance of team members.
• Support succession planning and career development within the team.
• Provide performance feedback and align with senior management on objectives.
