Job summary

Learnosity in Dublin is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build and ship software for the Build product. You will work across the full stack—JavaScript, React and CSS on the frontend; PHP, Python, Postgres/MySQL, Elasticsearch and AWS on the backend—owning features from design through release with product and leadership teams.

You will mentor engineers, raise the bar on code quality, and leverage AI tools to speed delivery while maintaining quality and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software engineer, with a track record of owning and delivering complex projects end to end.
• Strong JavaScript and ReactJS, including state management, component-based architecture, design systems, CSS.
• Strong PHP, ideally with Symfony and/or Doctrine, and Python in a backend or data-oriented context.
• Experience with relational, NoSQL and document-oriented databases and query design in high performance environments.
• Good knowledge of design patterns and back end architecture.
• Experience writing unit, integration and frontend tests, working with Docker, and giving strong code reviews.
• Experience mentoring engineers and working in agile teams.
• Clear verbal and written communication, adjusted to the audience.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of maintainable, well-engineered software across the Build product, balancing immediate needs with long-term technical health.
• Lead task planning, estimation and scheduling, and keep documentation current throughout.
• Translate product and business goals into clear engineering solutions, proving out complex functionality with real data before release.
• Find the root cause of complex issues and deliver permanent fixes, spotting risks before they become problems.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and raise the quality of design and delivery across the team.
• Work with engineering, product and design to align on shared goals and keep delivery on track.
• Use AI tools and introduce new technologies where they help the team deliver faster.
