Grafana Labs in Ireland is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Grafana Frontend to lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation squads, responsible for performance, delivery and customer outcomes. You will mentor senior engineers, partner with Product and Design, and drive AI-assisted workflows across engineering and operations.

This is a 100% remote role with global teams and RSU compensation. You’ll set engineering direction for frontend foundations, navigation, search and resource

Competenze

• Significant experience managing senior engineers and building healthy teams.
• Strong technical foundation in modern web/frontend systems for architectural decisions.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous cross-team problems into clear priorities and measurable results.
• Strong product and customer judgment; links engineering investments to outcomes.
• Clear, concise written communication; effective in a remote, distributed org.
• Appreciation for open-source development and balancing cloud-first with customer needs.
• Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership and workflows.

Mansioni

• Be accountable for the performance of distributed engineering squads; set expectations and provide feedback.
• Own hiring and team planning across squads; align capacity with priorities.
• Lead discovery with customers and users; shape roadmaps from insights.
• Partner with Product, Design and engineering leaders to set priorities and trade-offs.
• Oversee delivery from discovery to rollout; manage risks and timelines.
• Use AI to inform roadmap, resourcing, and coordination and reporting.
• Set engineering direction for frontend foundations including DX, accessibility, tooling.
• Lead navigation, search and resource-organization direction; consider AI-assisted discovery.
• Establish engineering standards for quality, security and operability; validate AI work.
• Drive productivity improvements and automations across Grafana and R&D.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response; drive reliability improvements.
