Job summary

ID-Pal in Ireland is seeking a frontend-focused engineer who can own features from initial requirements to delivery, while collaborating with Product and the Engineering team to modernise apps.

You will work with APIs, integrate frontend with backend services, and occasionally touch the stack. You’ll apply secure development practices and contribute ideas to technical solutions. Experience in startup or scale-up environments and a portfolio are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience owning and delivering features rather than simply completing tickets.
• Good understanding of APIs and how frontend and backend systems interact.
• Some backend exposure or a willingness to work outside the frontend when required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• An understanding of secure development practices.
• Someone comfortable working within a smaller, collaborative engineering team.
• Experience working within a Start-up or scale-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Building and developing modern web applications.
• Taking ownership of frontend features from initial requirements through to delivery.
• Building new functionality while helping modernise existing applications.
• Working closely with Product and the wider Engineering team.
• Integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and services.
• Occasionally working across the stack when required.
• Considering security and potential vulnerabilities when building new functionality.
• Contributing ideas and helping shape technical solutions.
• Using modern AI development tools to improve development workflow.
