Job summary

iLabs is seeking a seasoned full-stack engineer to join our hybrid Battaramulla team operating on US time. You will build scalable web and mobile features using React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript, while aligning business needs with technical solutions.

The role emphasizes strong communication, testing, and collaboration across product and engineering teams. You will mentor teammates, contribute to architectural decisions, and optimize for accessibility and performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Must work on US time and according to US calendar.
• Experience with Java and JavaScript is a plus.
• Knowledge of Spring or similar IoC frameworks.
• Experience with Kong API Gateway configuration and Lua scripts.

Responsibilities

• Code in a full-stack area using React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Work with CSS-in-JS frameworks (Tailwind, Styled Components, MUI).
• Drive design and implementation of features and live-ops at scale.
• Participate in testing (unit/integration/E2E) frameworks (Playwright).
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with strong communication.
• Lead the team to build scalable, maintainable software for millions of users.

Job Responsibilities

• Code in a full-stack area. React.js, Next.js, TypeScript / JavaScript. SPA architecture + GraphQL experience is a plus.

• Worked with CSS-in-JS frameworks or styling systems (e.g. Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, MUI, Emotion).

• Drive the design and implementation of solutions and product features, as well as support the live operation at scale of user-facing critical Web and Mobile flows.

• Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and E2E testing frameworks (playwright)

• Participate in the prioritization process to bring hidden technical needs to the roadmap.

• Translate business requirements into technical ones with very strong communication skills.

• Awareness of web accessibility standards (WCAG), SEO and AI performance optimization techniques.

• Lead the team to build scalable, easy-to-maintain software to support millions of users and transactions.

• Leverage AI-powered engineering tools, coding assistants, and AI agents to improve development productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and problem-solving workflows.

Location: Battaramulla (Hybrid)

US Time (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM SL Time) and the US Calendar

What We’re Looking For

• Sound knowledge in Next.js, React.js, Node.js

• Practical experience in TypeScript / JavaScript

• AWS S3, EC2, K8s containers, CloudFront

• Experience with cloud platforms like Netlify, Vercel or AWS is a plus.

• Knowledge of modern build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, Turbopack).

• Experience working in subscription and/or E-commerce companies

• Passion for mentoring and coaching the members of your team.

Bonus if you have:

• Knowledge or experience in Java would be a strong added advantage.

• GraphQL development experience

• Kubernetes / Docker

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in the similar capacity with BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

• Must work on US time and according to US Calendar

• worked diligently coding in Java and Javascript

• A creative and precise problem solver

• Digital product/UX understanding

• Strong Knowledge of Spring or other similar Interversion of control frameworks

• Passionately worked on and driven large scale projects to completion

• Experience working with Kong API Gateway configuration and LUA scripts
