Job summary

Bentley Systems in Dublin is seeking a senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer to work within our global Product & Technology group. You will tackle rapid prototyping, architecture de-risking, and tactical engineering initiatives in a hybrid environment.

You will partner with the CTO and senior engineers on short-cycle strategic projects for Bentley's P&T teams. You will evaluate options across full stack, build PoCs, and transition successful solutions to core product squads to power

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in fast-paced environments.
• Self-directed with strong ownership and bias for action.
• Fluent across multiple languages: C#, TypeScript, Python, Java, or C++.
• Empathy and collaboration with global P&T teams.
• Experience leveraging AI APIs, vector stores, or RAG tools.
• Strong ability to communicate complex ideas to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect and prototype PoCs across front-end, back-end, and cloud.
• De-risk architectures and validate with benchmarks before production.
• Deliver clear technical summaries to global P&T teams.
• Support hand-offs to product teams for deployment and scale.
