Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-moving Strategic Initiatives squad within the Office of the CTO. You will lead PoCs, evaluate emerging technologies, and tackle distributed systems and cloud-native challenges with a high degree of autonomy.

You will work across architectures, collaborate with senior engineers, and help modernize or design new solutions that impact Bentley’s product landscape. This hybrid Dublin role offers a strong growth path.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in fast-paced, product-led environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and benchmark PoCs to accelerate de-risking of complex technical hurdles.
• Partner with executive leadership on exploratory engineering problems to translate concepts into testable software.
• Move across domains from performance profiling to microservices, APIs, and cloud reliability.
• Independently explore viable technical paths and deliver actionable solutions with minimal direction.
• Package validated prototypes and findings for production transfer and future reuse.
• Integrate modern AI-assisted workflows to shorten research cycles and speed code generation.
