Job summary

Department of Health Tasmania seeks a Senior Clinical Psychologist with extensive forensic mental health expertise for work with young people in Tasmanian youth detention. The role involves high-level assessments, court reporting, and developing management plans within a multidisciplinary team.

Permanent part-time role based in Launceston, with travel to Ashley Youth Detention Centre; salary range $131,122–$138,984 per year, plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Registered to practice in Clinical or Forensic Psychology.
• Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
• Driver's Licence.
• Five or more years demonstrated clinical practice in forensic psychology with risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evidence-based clinical assessment, treatment, and case management.
• Produce high quality court assessment reports for youths in Tasmanian Courts.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care for youths in detention.
