Senior Financial Services Audit Lead

Job summary

BDO Ireland’s Financial Services Audit team in Dublin is expanding. You will deliver high-quality audit engagements for domestic and international FS clients, including funds, asset managers, SPVs and lending institutions, and take ownership of engagements across the portfolio.

Lead onsite fieldwork, assign work to junior staff, design risk-based procedures, prepare documentation, and coach junior team members. Collaborate with managers and partners to drive audit quality and client service.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA with strong professional services track record.
• 3–5 years external audit experience.
• Exposure to financial services clients: funds, asset management, SPVs, leasing, regulated entities.
• Solid ISA (Ireland) and Irish audit regulatory understanding; IFRS and Irish GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with controls testing, risk-based audits, and high-quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite/fieldwork and allocate work to junior team members.
• Design and execute risk-based audit procedures with controls testing.
• Prepare high-quality audit documentation and address review notes.
• Coach and develop junior staff through feedback and training.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and support firm growth.
