Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Qualified accountant with ACA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of eight years’ relevant accounting experience.
• Big 4 training or experience is required.
• Experience in multinational organisations.
• Pharma/biotech industry experience advantageous.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with SOX/internal controls.
• SAP experience advantageous.
• Experience with alliance/collaboration arrangements beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end accounting and reporting for alliance arrangements.
• Prepare month/quarter/year-end close activities including journal entries.
• Coordinate collaboration-related receipts and payments.
• Analyse financial results and provide variance explanations.
• Prepare management and external reporting schedules.
• Maintain internal controls across areas.
• Work with Finance, Legal and Corporate Development stakeholders.
• Review complex collaboration arrangements and accounting matters.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and balance sheet reviews.

Candidates must be able to assess the accounting implications of contractual terms and determine the appropriate treatment under US GAAP.

Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company based in Cork, is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join its finance team. The successful candidate will support the accounting, control and reporting requirements associated with complex alliance and collaboration arrangements. This role will involve close collaboration with Finance, Legal, Corporate Development and other internal and external stakeholders, while supporting accurate financial reporting, internal controls, audits and management reporting.

Responsibilities:
