Job summary

Our Cork-based client, a leading biopharmaceutical company, seeks a Senior Finance Manager to oversee accounting, control and reporting for complex alliance arrangements. You will collaborate with Finance, Legal and Corporate Development to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The role requires extensive US GAAP expertise, Big 4 background and experience with SOX in a multinational setting; pharmaceutical industry knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Qualified accountant with ACA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of eight years' relevant accounting experience.
• Big 4 training or experience required.
• Experience in a multinational organisation.
• Pharma/biotech exposure advantageous.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with SOX and internal controls.
• Ability to review and interpret complex alliance arrangements.
• Experience with SAP is advantageous.
• Alliance or collaboration arrangements accounting experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end accounting and reporting for alliance and collaboration arrangements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate collaboration-related receipts and payments.
• Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations.
• Prepare management reports and external reporting schedules.
• Maintain effective internal controls across assigned areas.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Corporate Development and other stakeholders.
• Review complex collaboration arrangements and address related accounting matters.
• Communicate accounting issues clearly within reporting timelines.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and balance sheet reviews.
• Support budgets and forecasts; lead or support finance projects and process improvements.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting and reporting activities as required.
