Job summary

Abbott is seeking a (Senior) Field Technical Engineer for the Electrophysiology (EP) team in Ireland, primarily ROI and Northern Ireland. The role will support the EP business in the Dublin area, joining the Region North EP team to provide clinical support and expert technical guidance.

Responsibilities include clinical consultation, ongoing product knowledge, and technical support to the salesforce. Travel up to 75% and autonomous work are required.

Qualifications

• BSc in a science-related degree.
• Significant electrophysiology experience in clinical or industry.
• 3D mapping experience would be a plus.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Willingness to travel 75% and work autonomously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description

As a (Senior) Field Technical Engineer within our Electrophysiology (EP) team you will be responsible for providing expert support and advise on the use of the Abbott EP portfolio within mainly ROI and Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate’s location would be Dublin area due to business needs. In this role you will be a member of the Region North EP team and you would mainly support clinically the EP business in the area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing expert clinical consultation, teaching and support on the use of all EP products and their appropriate application in the clinical setting.
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new therapies and technologies within the therapy area, including competitor devices, as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market.
• Providing technical support to the EP salesforce.
• Conduct product presentations and perform stand duty at exhibitions when requested, responding to technical questions that might be raised by EMEA or customers.

What you'll need

• Individuals will ideally have a BSc in a science related degree.
• Significant experience with electrophysiology products either within a clinical setting or in an equivalent role within industry.
• Experience in 3D Mapping system would be considered as a plus.
• Strong cardiac anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• A willingness to travel 75% of the time and ability to work autonomously.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
