Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and upgrade complex semiconductor equipment at customer facilities in Ireland. You will diagnose issues, apply diagnostics, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.

You will work with customers to ensure high uptime, collaborate with senior engineers, and train junior technicians as part of a global technology leader.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience in semiconductor industry or related equipment environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving in customer-facing settings.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, qualify, and upgrade equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues using structured troubleshooting.
• Support customers to achieve performance objectives in availability and productivity.
• Coordinate with customers and engineers on roadmaps and priorities.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Lead activities during install, startup, ramp, and qualification phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices for service delivery.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are followed.
