Job summary

TLI Group is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead cost estimates and tender submissions across renewable, civil, structural, and building projects in Ireland. You will work with engineering, project management, business development and commercial teams to ensure competitive and compliant bids.

Responsibilities include developing pricing strategies, interpreting tender docs, and mentoring junior estimators while upholding Health & Safety standards and procurement procedures.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5–10 years' experience in construction or civil estimating.
• Proven tender preparation experience for civil/building projects.
• Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, and Public Works Contracts is beneficial.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; Cubit estimating software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil and building projects.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and quantity surveyors to define scope and budget.
• Develop pricing strategies with the Precontracts Commercial Manager.
• Interpret tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for quotes.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, and benchmarks.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings to assess conditions and risks.
• Lead and support junior estimators when required.
• Assist in post-tender reviews and handovers to delivery teams.
• Research market trends and competitor pricing.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance and procurement procedures.
