Job summary

TLI Group Ltd in Dublin is seeking an experienced Senior Building & Civil Estimator to lead preparation of estimates and cost plans across civil, structural, and building projects. You will ensure competitive, compliant tenders for private and public clients and align with the company's goals.

This cross-functional role requires collaborating with engineering, project management, and commercial teams; you will develop pricing strategies, manage risk, mentor junior estimators, and maintain cost

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• 5–10 years' experience in construction or civil estimating.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering and building projects.
• Liaise with clients, engineers and quantity surveyors to understand project scope and budget constraints.
• Develop pricing strategies with the Precontracts Commercial Manager to deliver high-quality submissions.
• Evaluate tender documentation, technical drawings and specifications.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive quotes and up-to-date pricing.
• Maintain and develop internal estimating databases, cost libraries and benchmarking tools.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings to assess conditions and risks.
• Analyse project risks and provide mitigation strategies.
• Lead and support junior estimators as required.
• Assist in post-tender reviews and commercial handovers to project delivery teams.
• Continuously research market trends and competitor pricing.
• Ensure alignment with Health & Safety standards and procurement procedures.

As part of the growing Estimating and Engineering team at TLI Group, we are seeking an experienced Senior Building & Civil Estimator to lead and support the preparation of estimates and cost plans across multiple civil, structural, and building projects. You will be responsible for the delivery of competitive and compliant tenders, supporting both private and public sector clients, ensuring technical excellence, commercial viability, and strategic alignment with TLI Group’s goals.

This is a key role, working cross-functionally with engineering, project management, business development, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in a construction or civil engineering estimating role.
• Proven experience in preparing civil and/or building project tenders.
• Cable of undertaking estimate with minimum guidance
• Understanding of contract forms including NEC, FIDIC, and Public Works Contracts is beneficial.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite; familiarity with Cubit estimating software such an advantage but training will be provided
• Full driving licence required; occasional site visits may be necessary.
