Job summary

AA Euro Group is seeking a Senior Estimator on behalf of a leading Tier-1 contractor. The role is primarily based in Cork, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to calculate anticipated project costs and ensure accurate tender submissions.

You will manage tender documents, perform cost analysis, and contribute to value engineering, risk assessment, and detailed estimator notes. Strong analytical skills and a degree in construction are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in the construction field (Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Technology).
• 6+ years experience in estimating or quantity surveying.
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; knowledge of Conquest, Cubit, Buildsoft, CostX is desirable.
• Knowledge of current construction technology processes, materials and costs.
• Demonstrates budgetary responsibility and clear cost understanding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Receive tender documents and coordinate with the tender team.

• Analyze tenders and prices from supply chain; prepare nett costings.
• Produce tender submissions including Form of Tender, BOQs and commercial information.

Job description

AA Euro Group is currently seeking a Senior Estimator on behalf of a leading Teir-1 contractor. This role will be primarily based out of their Cork office, where the right candidate will have the opportunity to work with many stakeholders across the business. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will calculate the anticipated costs of potential projects, considering all relevant factors.

Duties:

• Receive all tender documents and ensure the wider tender team are copied.
• Issue sub-contract and material enquiries, including scope of works and attendance schedules (where applicable).
• Chase tender returns and update enquiry schedule.
• In conjunction with the wider tender team raise tender queries.
• Develop and fill gaps in tender, compile clarifications and estimator notes.
• Develop and assess a risk schedule and an opportunity assessment.
• Develop a value engineering schedule.
• Complete analysis of tenders and prices as received from supply chain.
• Produce documents for tender settlement and present clear nett costings identifying risks and opportunities.
• Complete tender submission including Form of Tender, Bills of quantities & associated commercial information.

Skills / Experience:

• Degree Qualified in the construction field (Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Technology)
• 6+ Years experience in a similar role i.e. Estimating or Quantity Surveying role.
• Must have strong analytical and numeracy skills
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office, ideally have a Working knowledge of Conquest, Cubit, Buildsoft, Costx
• Knowledge of the latest construction technology processes, materials and costs.
• Demonstrate excellent budgetary responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
