Job summary

Ramboll in Ireland seeks an Environmental Assurance Lead to drive environmental strategy, planning and compliance across major infrastructure programmes including metro, rail, and highways. You will lead on EIA, permits, and governance while coordinating with project teams and regulators to achieve sustainable delivery.

The role requires leadership across environmental planning and implementation, with hybrid work in Dublin and surroundings.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental management on major infrastructure or construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations and consenting processes in Ireland.
• Experience with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and environmental management systems.
• Proven ability to lead environmental delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary programmes.
• Experience working with regulators and public authorities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Degree in environmental science, engineering or related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CEnv, ISEP, APM, IPM, PMI or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental planning, assessment, compliance, and implementation across large infrastructure projects in Ireland.
• Develop and implement environmental strategies, plans and management systems.
• Oversee EIA processes and ensure commitments are embedded into delivery.
• Monitor contractor environmental performance and audit compliance with project requirements.
• Engage regulators, local authorities, and stakeholders on environmental matters.
• Support sustainability objectives including carbon management, biodiversity and resource efficiency.
