Job summary

Crossley Scott is seeking a Project Director for its Transmission & Distribution division in Ireland to lead multiple concurrent construction projects. You will drive safety, service excellence and profitability while developing client and stakeholder relationships.

The role encompasses commercial management, planning, procurement, construction and quality assurance, with leadership over Project Managers and project personnel, based from Waterford, Cork or Dublin offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years' experience managing large construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of high voltage infrastructure and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages.

Our client is a market-leading Electrical and Instrumentation contractor, headquartered in Ireland, working on a wide range of mission‑critical projects for blue‑chip clients across Europe and the Middle East. The business is part of a large‑scale, privately‑owned international facility management group. Our client has a substantial pipeline of work ahead and is looking to add the right people to its growing team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client's Transmission & Distribution division is delivering a number of projects across Ireland, and they are now looking to bring in a new Project Director to further grow and manage their project portfolio. This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring objectives are met in relation to safety, service excellence, profitability, and the development of client and stakeholder relationships.

The new Project Director will exercise functional oversight over all aspects of the projects under their control, including commercial management, planning, procurement, construction, quality assurance, health and safety, engineering, and the development and training of project personnel. This responsibility is fulfilled through the effective leadership, management, and support of the Project Managers assigned to each project.

This role can be based out of the client's Waterford, Cork or Dublin offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND STRENGTHS

• An Electrical Engineering Degree or recognised trade qualification.
• 10+ years' experience of managing large construction projects.
• Strong understanding of high voltage electrical infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and preconstruction strategies.
• Strong knowledge of the Irish MV/HV sector — the clients and consultants.
• Knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages.
• Proven leadership skills with a strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
