Job summary

Responsibilities

• Understand, interpret and implement legislative provisions, policy context and operational environment for statutory functions of the local authority.
• Determine demand for service within the directorate and set priorities with the Director of Service.
• Implement agreed strategies to improve range, quantity or quality of services and adapt strategies as needed.
• Support policy implementation and corporate objectives under local government reform initiatives.
• Provide leadership and build effective teams, ensuring training and development of staff.
