Job summary

Global Professional Consultants seeks a Senior Engineer for a large-scale Data Centre project in Norway. The role emphasizes setting out, surveying, QA/QC and on-site technical delivery within a Tier 2 contractor environment.

You will lead on-site technical requirements, manage RFIs, submittals and shop drawings, and coordinate with consultants and subcontractors to meet programme and quality targets. A 5+ year track record and an engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Site/Senior Engineer on large-scale projects.
• Strong setting out, surveying and levelling experience.
• Proficiency in QA/QC processes and quality documentation.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

Senior Engineer – Norway

Project: Large-Scale Data Centre
Working Pattern: Rotational

My client, a Tier 2 Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their project team on a large-scale Data Centre project in Norway.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in setting out, surveying, QA/QC and technical project delivery.

Duties

• Manage the day-to-day technical and engineering requirements on site.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and design coordination.
• Carry out setting out, surveying and levelling.
• Implement and maintain site quality control procedures.
• Manage inspection and test plans and quality documentation.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Support the Project Manager / Contracts Manager with project delivery.
• Monitor works against programme, drawings and specifications.
• Identify information gaps and develop solutions with the project and design teams.
• Coordinate temporary works where required.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and site teams.
• Ensure works are completed safely, to programme and to a high standard.

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong setting out, surveying and levelling experience.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and quality documentation.
• Experience with Inspection & Test Plans and defect prevention.
• Knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
• Experience coordinating temporary works.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
• Good computer skills and experience with MS Project or similar.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
