Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Senior Engineer (Housing) for a West Dublin project. You will lead health and safety management, review design drawings, and drive coordination with subcontractors to meet project milestones.

Role requires active participation in design meetings, programme reporting, and BCAR compliance. You will manage an engineering team, mentor staff, and ensure quality aligns with regulations and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Health and Safety on the project.
• Review and comment on design drawings and raise RFIs as necessary.
• Active participation in Design Team Meetings, ensuring review of design documents and close out of outstanding design issues.
• Understand target delivery programme, weekly reporting of same and intervention to prevent delays.
• Management and coordination of subcontractors and service providers to meet testing and commissioning timelines.
• Monitor and evaluate quality control of subcontractor work and suppliers.
• Ensure works comply with Building Regulations, design documents and standards.
• Continuous inspection of works on site, recording and resolving issues promptly.
• Lead on quality assurance policies and technical submittals/ benchmarks / inspection management.
• Champion DMS (Zutec) implementation and BCAR compliance.
• Participate in Scaffold Inspections when directed by Site Manager.
• Coordinate site drawings, maintain site records and QA documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors to deliver outputs on time and on budget with high quality.
• Lead Temporary Works Management on the project.
• Coordinate third-party stakeholders including Irish Water, ESB and local authorities.
• Identify key stakeholders and support the PM with engagement and relationship management.
• Manage direct reports and engineering team, providing leadership and mentoring as required.
• Plan and monitor development plans for direct reports.
• Chair site and construction team meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Typically, the candidate will be expected to undertake and assist with the following duties:
• Ownership of the management of Health and Safety on the project.
• Review and comment on design drawings and raise RFI’s as necessary.
• Active participation in Design Team Meetings, ensuring constant review of design documents and close out of outstanding design issues.
• Understand target delivery programme, weekly reporting of same and active intervention to prevent programme delays.

• Ensure works are executed in compliance with Building Regulations, design documents and all applicable standards.
