Job summary

Farrans Construction is seeking a civil engineering professional to oversee daily site inspection and ensure quality of work onsite. The role focuses on delivering within time and budget while aligning with industry standards.

You will lead site engineers and coordinate with the Site Agent, driving health, safety and quality performance across projects. With a degree in civil engineering and at least 5 years' experience on large-scale civil or water infrastructure works, you will manage teams,

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree standard in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience delivering large-scale civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to plan works and manage engineering teams with multiple stakeholders.
  • Valid Safe Pass card.
  • Strong understanding of Irish building regulations, Irish Water standards, legislation and H&S requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and mentor junior engineers.

Job Description

You will be primarily involved in the daily inspection of the quality of the work completed onsite. Alongside the site you will initiate continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. This will ensure the customers expectations are met, whilst aligning the activities within the industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the site agent to deliver exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance
  • Responsible for quality control, understanding of specifications, and DWI requirements.
  • Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered
  • Take a proactive approach to resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work
