Job summary

Ahoy is seeking a Senior IC to join their founding engineering team based in Dublin. In this role, you will ship full features end-to-end, collaborating closely with founders on product development.

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in shipping production software, ideally using Python and TypeScript/React. The position requires hybrid working, with team members collaborating in person several days a week.

Job description

Senior IC on the founding engineering team. You ship full features end-to-end — backend, AI agents, frontend, demos — and you pair with founders on the things customers will see next week. We hire across the stack and we expect you to be comfortable owning a slice of it.

What you'll do

• Build customer-facing features end-to-end: API surface, agent behaviour, UI, and the polish that makes them feel built-in.
• Own production systems you ship — instrumentation, on-call, the bug that surfaces a week later.
• Pair with the founders on what to build next. Argue when something doesn't make sense.
• Help design how the agents reason about CRM data and how that reasoning surfaces in the product.
• Set technical patterns for the rest of the team to follow.

What you bring

• 5+ years shipping production software — ideally Python on the backend and TypeScript / React on the frontend.
• Strong fundamentals: databases, distributed systems, API design, async work.
• Comfortable across the stack. You can move from a schema migration to a UI bug to a prompt tweak in the same day.
• You write code you're proud of, you ship it, and you delete it when it stops earning its keep.
• Hybrid out of Dublin. We work in person several days a week.

Bonus

• You've built with LLMs or agent frameworks in production (retrieval, tool-use, evals).
• You've worked on CRM, sales tech, or pipeline software before.
• Open-source work, side projects, or writing that shows how you think.
