Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to lead protection development for Elastic Defend. You will research attacker techniques, extend endpoint visibility, and implement production code in C/C++ for millions of endpoints.

The role requires malware analysis, OS internals knowledge, and a collaborative approach across distributed teams. You will work with researchers, data scientists, and engineers to design resilient protections, share findings, and mentor colleagues while

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience analyzing attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• 6+ years of development in C, C++, and Python in security-critical codebases.
• Deep OS internals knowledge (Windows focus).
• Reverse engineering and malware analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Research attacker techniques and turn them into protections.
• Extend endpoint visibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Develop production code in C/C++ for millions of endpoints.
• Reverse engineer malware and study evasion.
• Own efficacy end to end with telemetry review and mitigation planning.
• Collaborate across Elastic Security across countries and time zones.
